Simply gorgeous! You look stunning–love that pink dress. What a perfect day. So sweet that your mom got all dressed up for her chat with the bride & groom! Congrats. Looks like you pulled off the perfect party!
Thanks Nancy, It was such a fun day. The hospital was amazing in getting someone to get Mom’s clothes, (a detail I wouldn’t have even thought of at that point!) and they got a corsage for her!! It was all very sweet.
Jeanne, it was such a pretty day. We were so lucky. I think everyone’s good thoughts helped to push that Katia storm out to sea. These photos could have been a LOT different!
I have to give my brother Steve credit for that. He took those photos, and set up the Skype on his computer for the reception. Our small town hospital in Bar Harbor really came through for Mom and for us.
I have SO much to tell you. I can’t wait!!
xoxo
It was really so much prettier than you can even see in the photos. Perfect temperature too. September can be beautiful here, but it can also be messy. We sure lucked out.
You bet! Stephanie’s mom and her grandparents are Jewish, as are many of the family members who came to the island. It is a huppah that was made for the wedding of our friends’ son and his bride. In December 2009, when Robin asked Stephanie to marry him, we went over to see our friends Dan and Cynthia for potato latkes. R and S announced their engagement to them, and the first words out of Dan’s mouth were, “We have a perfect huppah for you to use!!” The whole ceremony was non traditional. My husband’s sister, Kelly, ( a Notary Public) officiated. None of them wanted any mention of God in the service, but clearly, anyone’s higher power of choice was there!
It was a really great day. You guys can picture the dock for the reception. You have to come back to see the front yard! Hope you guys are doing well. Holly and I are meeting up this weekend for a workshop at Celie’s. Wish you were going to be there too.
Happy fall!
xoxo
