I was only without an internet signal for 4 nights, but is seemed like a lot longer. Of course during that time I though of a bunch of photos to post and thoughts to write, and I missed checking all of the blogs I’ve become used to seeing every day. The few times I went somewhere else to pick up a signal, I used the time to catch up on essential e-mails.
Here are a few photos from the day after the storm. It was beautiful, sunny, and I got out on cross country skis for the first time in years. I feel so fortunate to live in such a beautiful spot.

Rosa Rugosa. They are incredibly hardy. They are growing wild along the road by the beach. Tons of wind, salt spray, etc. And they just keep coming back. I didn’t even notice the buds when I took the photo. They were a nice surprise!

I agree w/ Susan – gorgeous photos. Hard to believe some of the same places covered in snow! I think my favorites are the last 2 – the tiny branches looking like out-of-control reindeer antlers, and the last one w/ the swoopy snow drift.
I love the pix you take – good eye and good tech.

A nice compliment from a great photographer! Thanks Sally! One of my favorite memories of last fall was when we had both just gotten off the boat, looked up and saw some amazing clouds, and had our cameras out the very next second. Simultaneous shutter clicks.

Hi Lynn. The snow is so fleeting here. Already the good ski conditions are gone. But I like it better than last year when we literally had no snow at all.

i think i recognize the coast guard road up there! beautiful! i just saw shots of my mom’s wrecked neighborhood on the 4:30 am abc national news broadcast…i’m enjoying these pics much more….

oh she’s just fine…the worst that happened was that her elderly lady cat singed her belly fur while walking across the gas stovetop (that mom had on to help warm her cottage when the power was out). she lives one row back from the water and 4 houses over from a public beach…the parking lot was decimated and one of the front cottages had half it’s basement/crawlspace washed out….about 20 years ago they built a breakwater down the beach that’s causing the tides/storms to just carve away mom’s beach….
