Bracelet Bonanza

at Winters Work on the Islesford Dock!

Summer is in full swing in the Cranberry Isles. Life is very busy because it’s full of good things. You don’t want to miss the Ashley Bryan exhibit at the Islesford Museum. It will certainly entice you to buy one or several of Ashley’s books at Sue’s shop, Winters Work. While you are there, why not try on a bracelet or two. You just might want several reminders of your happy time on Islesford. Books and bracelets and more!

Somehow I’m not surprised that I have been obsessively thinking about and sketching bracelets for the last 2 weeks and then you post this! Last night I finally cleared my bench of half done projects so I could work on some bracelets TODAY! The pearl and colorful tube bracelets….what are the tubes made out of? And are the silver tubes sterling?

    • Great minds! We are getting closer and closer to our time at Haystack. I can’t wait!
The tubes are polymer clay. Extruded!! I got a fitting for the end of the extruder that goes on before the round hole disc, so the extruded round “snake” is actually hollow.
The silver tubes are sterling. I bent them a little bit to get more of a curve. The first time I made those bracelets I tested the elastic by pulling it against the edge of the sterling tube to simulate wear and tear. I did it while watching TV, and kept track of how many times I tested it. Over 2,000. No breakage. xo

Hi Barb – yum! Love the first batch with the stones and silver ½ ring. Can you send any our way?
I hope maybe the family and I can come your way next week to see the exhibit and tour around. Hope you’re well, I’ll let you know if we’re coming,
