I’ve completed a fair amount of work recently, but I have not put it up on Etsy yet due to continued attempts at improving my photography. “Good enough” is not quite good enough. I always hope do better. I think I have a handle on the earring photos, but the necklaces are another thing. Trying out different backgrounds is part of the learning process. And there is always lighting to figure out. Not sure if I like the floor tile background and the green paper is too green for me. Good thing I happen to be in N.Y. visiting my friend Susie this weekend. I plan to go to A.I. Friedman (art supply store) tomorrow to check out their paper department. Time to add to my backgrounds options.
What I like about the necklace below is the that I’m finally using a hand made clasp, and I really like the mix of silver and copper beads with their green patina. Wish I had bought more of these from Shannon LeVart at Miss Ficklemedia! I am keeping a sharp eye on her Etsy shop for their return.

beautiful, beautiful! clasp-perfect! gray and tile backgrounds-geat! geen paper- yes, a bit too green…but really exciting looking. i think my gray silk background is good but REALLY boring. i was taking pictures on this dull gray morning, too…i REALLY think i need the macro lens for my camera. after i come back from purdue, i’ll have to start saving for that!
I really like your gray silk background. I think it looks great with your jewelry. NOT boring! I can’t wait to see your new photos. Wish I could get over to see you, but this is a funky trip as far as all of the planned activities. Fund raiser in NYC Monday night, and back home to the island on Tuesday.
Really love having a macro lens. I thought you had one? Maybe not with the new camera. Can’t wait for Purdue!
I love the clasps. The colors in the necklaces are to die for. Gorgeous!
Hey, here it is Sunday night again, I’m at Susie’s, and I’m so glad I don’t have to write a column!
hope you’re having a great visit to the ct/nyc area! sometimes you just can’t jam one more activity into a visit…that’s for sure! i’m about to go and buy myself a macro lens RIGHT NOW! wish me luck!
We got back to the island at 6 tonight. Not too bad for a drive. Great party last night, but music was kinda loud.
Did you order the lens?
the detail is good on these & so are the backgrounds,(ok the green is really GREEN!but not horrible).I have found good backgrounds in my wallpaper sample books.Interesting textures & different colours, just something to look into.
