It just so happens I am heading through there tomorrow on my way to Portland for a birthday celebration. Mine! The big 60! And I am pretty darn excited about it. Before I celebrate, though, I’ll be dropping some necklaces off at the Center for Maine Craft. Here are some of the pieces that will be there by early afternoon:
Beautiful work, Barb! Happy, happy birthday!! Have lots of fun, tomorrow!
Miss you!

Love everything about that first piece, but especially how you fit the cap to the focal. Can you share what the stone is?

Sure, Gale. The stone is a beach rock I found near my home in Maine. It is flat, and looks like a round piece that has had about a third if it cut right off the edge. I just found it that way. What looks like a bead cap on it, is actually a handmade bead that sits next to it. I made a saucer bead from Precious Metal Clay, cut it in half, and placed a flat piece of clay across the cut area to close off the hollow bead. The texture is on two of the three sides.
